Making Emmer (with Spelt!) Bread

Posted on October 7, 2025October 7, 2025 by Kristen

I enjoyed making – and eating – this “Overnight Emmer Bread” by Occasionally Eggs. I made a video sharing my experience of this recipe. If you have emmer grains and you’re wondering what to do with emmer, this sandwich bread is a good bet. I actually tried it with only emmer and it was all right, but much better with the mix of emmer and spelt as the recipe directs.

Why am I making videos like this, you might ask? I think it’s fun to try out a new recipe, and so far it feels fun to share my experience. Maybe this will reach someone who is also new to baking with fresh grains, and this will inspire you to try this recipe. It’s an easy one! Please let me know what you think.

Loved the video and the pretty Norwegian box on the counter.
