Weekly Breadcrumb is a weekly series where I look back on what baking has taught me, shown me, or reminded me over the previous week. A lesson, or gift, I have received from baking.

I made some Norwegian rolls (Rundstykker!) this week, twice within a few days of each other. Why twice? Because I enjoy them – they’re comforting and wholesome. I also enjoy making them, especially since they are simple and easy to make.
Even though I had just made a batch last Saturday evening, I decided I wanted to make more when they were almost gone. And why not? The other bread-making possibilities were there – I could have made something different, maybe a sourdough. There are so many different things I’d like to try, but I decided making these rolls was the ticket to happiness this week.
With baking, I think it’s good to bake what you want, and not feel like there are certain rules you must follow. Make your favorites and enjoy! I will probably make more rolls again soon 🙂
