Weekly Breadcrumb is a weekly series where I look back on what baking has taught me, shown me, or reminded me over the previous week. A lesson, or gift, I have received from baking.

This week’s lesson is simple. I’ve only been at this fresh-milled flour gig for two-and-a-half months. In that time, I’ve made some really good bread! And, I have learned so much through the good and bad loaves of bread that I’ve made.
So, I’m remembering to take pride in my successes and just learn from the loaves that weren’t as great (instead of feeling badly about it.) Reminder to self: I’m still a beginner.
Is there something that you’ve only been doing for a short amount of time? Give yourself a pat on the back for doing something new, and go easy on yourself. Doing new things is hard! We’re allowed to learn and fail.
And even when we aren’t beginners anymore, we’re allowed to fail.
